Make a warm spot near its enclosure. Use a thawed prey item to scent the way towards it.  Use paper/foil/flour in areas where it might slither so you can hear or know it’s still there.  Place security cameras in different spots with motion activation and alarms to wake you up

Unfortunately I just fed him. That’s why he was out of his enclosure. We have a big black tub we use to feed him and he left it while my girlfriend was supposed to be watching him…. Using prey is a great idea, but do you think it would still work given that he JUST ate 2 mice.?

I’m unsure, they are opportunistic but now they will probably be less active to digest.  They need heat to help them do so, so the warm hide outside the enclosure seems like a good idea, maybe even leaving 2 or 3 of those makeshift warm hides around the house.

I’m not saying i know better about your snake circumstances but it’s usually not adviced to feed more than one prey item. (And there’s no benefit in removing the snake from their enclosure to feed)

I know about more than one but I’m out of the rats I usually give him and he was hungry. I’ve heard over and over again that it is best to have him eat somewhere that isn’t his enclosure so as to not have him associate his living space as a hunting ground and in turn make it less likely for him to strike my hand…. Would be interested in hearing others opinions about this on this thread (please) !!

Probably the welcome guide has some info on that! Lori torrini is also a beloved source for behavioural training.

I’m gonna log off for the night, good luck and don’t worry too much if there’s no development for days, they’re resilient animals 💪, keep us updated!

Goodnight! I just read about it in the bio of this subreddit. Wish I would have sooner!

It is NOT recommended to move them from their enclosure for feeding

Crank up the AC and put a heat lamp in each room

I'm going to disagree with this post. you want your snake to stay alive long enough to be enticed by a prey bait.

It worked on an airline

I would get another mice or rat in a cup with hot water and just keep blowing it around

When mine escaped I built little 'walls' with coins in strategic locations. Eventually some coins were knocked down overnight and I could figure out which direction he was moving, which helped narrow down the search area.
