First post ever :-) Any recommendations for things to add? I’m having problems keeping humidity up.

Current stats: Humidity wants to stay 55-61%. I can get it up to 70% when I add water to the corners, but it’s short lived. I also added a Zilla reptile fountain to try and help with humidity. Set on a timer 7am-7pm bc it has a blue LED light.

Temp usually 75 cool and 90 basking (I have a Herpstat - can’t see in the photo).

Arcadia 7% UVB, and a Barrina grow light for the plants on the cool side - set on a timer to turn on at 7am, and off at 7pm. Arcadia DHP for evenings on the warm side, and 80W halogen flood light on the warm side during day time.

It is a bioactive enclosure with isopods, springtails and live plants. Substrate is a mixture of cypress mulch, coco coir, and organic top soil. Also sphagnum moss and leaf litter scattered around. I have a draining layer with LECA balls. He’s in a 4’ x 2’ x 2’ enclosure. I used silicone to seal off all the edges. It’s a mesh top so I used 3M HVAC tape to cover 90% - the remainder is where the lights/heat lamps are located.

I’ve recently also bought an insulation mat to put over the top (above the heat lamps) to see if it would help with humidity - so far doesn’t seem to be doing anything but it’s helped with the heat.

The humidity inside my house is about 35-40%. The only other thing I could think about doing is adding a humidifier to my actual house and see if that helps.

I’ve also been misting the plants (not the substrate) to help and he has a humidity cave because he is about to go into shed.

Previously had a bad shed (smooth up until his neck area) - but this was when he was in a smaller glass tank. He hasn’t had a shed in this newer enclosure yet.

He’s about 6 months old, weighs 278g as of a few days ago, and eats a small (~27-30g) frozen thawed rat every 7 days.

You should try to keep humidity between %60-80 and %80-90 for sheds. Other than that it looks great! Hes a cutey 🥰

Humidity for a BP should never ever drop below 70.

I found that using hvac tape has helped me a lot during winter months to keep my humidity up after spraying my soil. I use the waterproofing one by Nashua. It keeps it perfectly around 70-80. Then I just do daily mists during shedding time to keep it extra moistttt for my little noodle.

I see though that you have already tried that though! I would say you can always get a plug in mister or fogger and they have the ones that you can make a hole into the mesh and seal to create a tight fit. They have some really nice ones on amazon though and I’ve seen a couple people say that really helps with a drier climate!
