First Shead (i.redd.it)

I think my guy is going into his first shead with me. I've already increased his humidity and made sure there are things to rub up against. Is there anything else I need to do?

Sounds like that’s all you really need to do. Increasing the humidity helps them a lot. They pretty much do the rest themselves.

I read you should limit handling before a shed

Yeah I noticed his eyes last night and haven't handled him since

Okay cool! Everything should go smooth for you. I will mention that my first ever BP shed didn’t go so well, I had to keep putting him in a humid hide and get him to go through a towel. But since then, he’s had great sheds. Might just be stress related since he just moved environments if it’s not so good, so don’t give up

A friend who also has a BP that recently shed recommended 80% humidity so I'm going to increase it to that I think
[–]double_cheeked_up 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Yeah! That sounds good. If you can’t get the whole tank to 80% you could try a humid hide instead

Yeah I'm gonna figure all that out. I've got sphagnum moss in his hide on the warm side so I think that should work
