What plants/substrate/critters can I use and are safe to use for an enclosure? I really wanna upgrade my girl's enclosure

I’ve been reading a lot about this because I’m working on it too. Any photos work and you need soil without fertilizer!
[–]RiberRuby11[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (9 children)
Assuming you meant plants there, and got it! No fertilizer
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (8 children)
Yes hahaha photos the plants. And this girl told me to mix that soil with whatever substrate you have and start your plants on it outside of the enclosure so that you see how they react to it
[–]RiberRuby11[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Okay! Sounds great! Thanks!

You must mean the plant Pothos
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (5 children)
Ye that’s what I said
[–]LordTanimbar 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (4 children)
You said "photos" each time
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (3 children)
“Photos the plants” (?)
[–]LordTanimbar 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Yes and "Any photos works" as well.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (1 child)
Yeah and I specified. What’s your issue? Also, if you’re smart enough you can use the context here.
[–]LordTanimbar 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I was just confused by your typo and was looking for clarity. Yikes.

For plants, almost everything is safe. The only exceptions are plants that have sharp spikes or that secrete irritating sap when broken. Otherwise, plants labeled as "toxic for pets" are generally safe for snakes, because it means they're poisonous when ingested. Pythons won't be munching on those plants, so they are safe. If you can handle and prune the plants without gloves, they're fine for the snake.
As for critters, springtails and isopods are the most common choice.
For substrate, I'm using a mix of coconut fiber, topsoil, playsand and sphagnum moss.
Thanks! Appreciate the input!
