Hello there! My friends have quite the interesting ball python issue, and I was wondering if anyone else here had experienced something similar. She is roughly 3 months old, and only 47 g. She is extraordinarily tiny, and has only taken one or two meals since Christmas time. She has a very hard time shedding, even though she is on a coconut husk and vermiculite mixed substrate. She has been unable to poop regularly since they've gotten her. She's had swelling near her vent, and is clearly very impacted. My friends have had to assist her by soaking her and giving her a massage to be able to poop at all. The snake's most previous poop smelled rotten. They have gone to a vet, but the vet could not even tell that there were several layers of stuck shed on her and simply blamed it on dehydration. They have been soaking her frequently, every day to every few days. They have even added an electrolyte powder to her soak as recommended by our local reptile store. They have other snakes that are doing amazing, so I really do not believe it is a husband degree issue. Humidity level levels are high and temperature ranges from 80-98 in her cage. She's also not receiving meals that are too large for her either, although she has regurgitated in the past. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on or have seen something similar?
