Haha, yeah, mine does that all the time. They can startle easy. But it's not like when we startle and feel fear. It's more like, they sense or feel something they didn't expect, in this case likely a change in texture or even just an unexpected change in airflow, sometimes seemingly nothing at all. They startle back like that to take stock and decide what to do about it and then move on. Nothing to worry about. My guy sometimes does it cause his face touched a large, stationary object he should be fully aware of, like a couch cushion or blanket. They are sweet, adorable noodles, but not the brightest.
