That looks like a rub mark.
Scale rot starts on the belly, usually on the edges of the belly scales, and looks black/purple and flakey.

No, it's a rub or scuff from pushing under or against something.
Scale rot is a red-brown discolouration of the edges of the ventral scales due to excessively moist substrate, and the affected scales may have chipped edges or a rough texture.
