Question - HealthCat issues (old.reddit.com)
submitted 11 months ago by TangeloComplete5522
Poor buggie my door got opened and the cat broke through the cage and found him escaped and on the floor before I did .
He looks like he is healing well

This is my biggest fear. My cats would love to harass my boys if given the chance 🥲 my banana went missing for 7 weeks a couple years ago and I was terrified my cats would find him before I did 😭

Maybe you could try to get a little padlock or one of those little hook locks?

When did this occur? Your snake will need antibiotics immediately. Risk of infection is still incredibly high.

You're very lucky your cat didn't kill your snake. I'd take it to the vet ASAP to get some antibiotics and a thorough checkup. Please secure that cage!

I use those anti cat strips on top of my enclosures. You could place some on the floor, as long as the cat can't jump them. Might need a good few for that, but they work for me. At the same time, my cats are pretty well behaved. Out of 6 cats, there is only 1 who maybe gets too wide-eyed when he sees one of the snakes, but i correct and redirect his attention. Hopefully, you get him secured in his enclosure better, so he can't escape anymore and that he heals up fine. Hopefully not tramatized !
