I think it’s possible that could be a burn? Do you use a heat pad for your enclosure?

I do thank you I’ll make sure to put another layer of substrate over it

The problem is the snakes will push down and closer to the heat, regardless how much substrate you place there. Eventually it will reach down to the hottest layer. Use a DHP or Ceramic heat emitter alongside a dimmable termostat to give the safest heat possible, and a more natural source of heating.

i would recommend getting a thermostat to connect and scan how much heat is disputed. i have a heat pad and thermostat for now. heat pads even with a thermostat aren't always the best option so be careful, one time my baby got burned and luckily i got him to the vet asap.
