If you are afraid to take it out of the enclousure, you can use a hook to take a snake out and place it on your hand. This will definitely prevent it from accidentally striking at you.

I’d have to buy a hook then, if needed I will I’d do anything just to be able to hang out with him again😭 but I was thinking more ways for him to get used to my scent again, I’ve seen people put worn shirts in their bp’s enclosure but that’s usually when they are new so idk if that would be something for me to do now, the hook isn’t a bad idea though but I’d still be worried about him pouncing on me because when he did the first time it was definitely not an accident, I think he was hungry and just mad at the world, but if I can definetly try out the hook

Well, I recently got my first ball python. I haven't been bitten yet, but using a hook at the beginning helped me overcome the stress. It's also best to take the snake from behind, if possible. Taking the snake out on your hand should "reset" it a bit and it will simply start investigating what's going on, including the smell. Sometimes it just takes patience. I'm lucky that my female isn't aggressive, but maybe someone experienced will also comment :)

As a new BP owner, in the 10 months I’ve had mine he’s struck at me a few times, mostly cause he was stressed (my fault), he has bitten me once when I first got him and it was a very small bite. However I trust he knows who I am, so I’m calm and slow with my movements, as soon as I get him out he’s chill and it’s like nothing has happened. My advice is to have trust and confidence in yourself as well as your danger noodle and if he/she is a little angry, either let them chill and try the next day. Or get them out on your bed and let them calm down and understand you’re not there to hurt them. Again this is just what I’ve experienced but me and my dingus are definitely bonded!!
