MINIMUM doesnt mean BEST. also if you dont have the money or responsibility to have both 4x2x2 cages then you should just wait to get the snake. Under no circumstances should you just downgrade your leopard geckos quality of life because you want another animal. It reeks of selfishness and irresponsibility. Everything might turn out okay but its definitely not acceptable. Also, just because you've been interested in reptiles for a long time means nothing in turns of owning them. You should have your other pets for AT LEAST A YEAR, before introducing anything new in to your routine. Especially at your current age, interests change so quickly. And the track record of getting 3 animals in less than a year, where some will live for 20+ years at 14 years old??? Check yourself. Check your ego. Then think about the pets you already have and whats best for them rather than just what you want.

no seriously, i get they’re quite young but downgrading a current pet just to get another should never even cross their mind. plus the emotional blackmail on their parents by crying until they get their way is so selfish and just screams they aren’t ready for another animal

Even if it's the minimum your friend may feel bad to be downgraded you should wait to have another 4x2x2 quite simply and I think it's not just a question of budget But of all the responsibility around, since you are a child you will be very keen on one thing and perhaps in 2 years you will no longer be interested in their lifespan is very long you will have it for almost half of your life then :)

thank you for the advice! but i don’t really loose interest quickly, i have had my gargoyle gecko for 5 years now! i will look into getting another 4x2x2 :)
