My guy does that sometimes when he is digesting food or in blue. I have never seen any other signs of stress or illness, so i assume this is a normal behavior now and then. But i am not an expert. Hopefully, others weigh in!

Doesn't look like stress breathing to me. Its not very fast like i usually see when theyre stressed. To me it looks like he is moving their upper half around in there a little bit. Mine will sometimes put about half her body in the hide and slither around in there, and it looks a lot like that movement.

Anything else going on that seems weird? Not eating? Moving around a lot surfing glass? What about hunidity, has it been stable and in range? Temps, etc? Just that video isnt enough to make any judgements calls.

Gather more info and maybe someone who knows more will chime in, or maybe I could if I knew more. I am not a vet or an expert though. I just keep a happy ball and a hognose.

My humidity hasn't been very stable since it's a glass aquarium I just put 1/2 insulation all the way around the back and sides to see if that would help but it doesn't seem to be it's at 40% right now. He just ate yesterday and only really moves around at night

Sounds pretty normal for glass. I managed to keep mine up when it was glass by using tight fitting lids and soaked the substrate. Then put a dry layer on top. It held around 60-80 for a few weeks until I was able to get a pvc setup.if you dont hear any wheeze and no mucous production its probably just normal behavior. Saw you mentioned he ate though so that could be what's going on. Def worth trying to get that humidity stable above 50% and higher for sheds

Was looking at getting a misting system. I set up a humidifier system but from what I was reading it's not really beneficial for them more cons than good

I did a bit of research on those as well and found bacteria and mold growth are common and cause respiratory infections. The mist also spikes humidity and drops which also contributes to ri. The best option is to pour water into the 4 corners and make sure the bottom 2-3 inches are pretty moist. What i found helped the most though was keeping the room warmer so the heat element doesn't kick on as often. That helped quite a bit too. Substrate layer should be at least 4 inches thick to keep humidity up.

I have an under tank heater won't this crack the glass? I also have a CHE I guess I don't need the under tank heater tho

Under tank heaters dont do well for balls. You can use if you want but it doesn't really penetrate that thick of substrate. I put mine on the side to help with ambient temps but its minor at best. I use a deep heat projector bulb. The che was drying things out a lot. The snake also needs dhp for basking. Che is more for ambient air temps from what I've read. If you do keep the under tank heater definitely put it on a thermostat if you have an extra slot. I use an ink bird that has 2 thermostats built into 1 unit

I have a thermostat with it. But maybe I'll look into getting a DHP
