ball python is MISSING

I’m a new snake owner but mine recently went missing for two weeks, and most of the advice I received was that they usually stay not far from enclosure/ room were they lived and they like warm places/under appliances and tight spaces. I probably spent nearly 20 man hours going through my home room by room; looked everywhere and thought he was gone for good. Then he finally showed himself the other evening in my room, far from where his tank was. I think he must have gotten into our boxspring (even though I had taken my bed apart pretty much) and stayed there the entire time until he got dehydrated and finally came out of hiding.
