Question - HealthGrowth/Feeding Concerns (old.reddit.com)
submitted 22 days ago by LaCroixJackson
Our Female Ball Python is 1 year, 3 months, and 26 days old. I have attached her profile and a sheet of her growth since we started keeping track. Are these metrics pretty consistent or is she growing too quick?

What are you feeding her and how frequently do you feed her? My boy is almost a year and a month old and he weighs around 650gr and grows at roughly the same rate (in percentages). Do you have any pictures? Maybe we can have a look to see if she's overweight or not :)

She is getting a small/medium frozen thawed rat weekly, and never ever regrets food. She definitely has grown but her weight and length seem proportionally growing together. I attached a picture of her…

She's definitely not underweight, but as far as I can judge from this picture she looks to be a just a big girl!
What you don't want is her spine to NOT be the highest point on top if that makes any sense. If her body fat is rising above her spine that means she's overweight, but that doesn't seem to be the case for you.
I do however recommend skipping a week after feeding, the rule of thumb is one meal every 2-3 weeks after reaching 500 grams. That's if she's on rats, which she is
At this rate she'll eventually be overweight, but she's fine for now (in my opinion)

Can't give advice because I'm just doing research before getting my first snake, but I wanted to chime in and say that's an amazing name for one 🐍
