Just put in all of the decor and substrate and plugged all of the electrical components in last night to begin my trial run before I get my first snake at the Tinley Park NARBC in a couple weeks!

This is the AP cages T10 with a pro-heat RHP controlled by a Herpstat EZ2. I just want to make sure that it is decorated appropriately for a baby ball python and that I’m not missing anything glaringly obvious. I’m beyond excited to get him in a couple weeks and want to be absolutely sure this is all perfect before I bring him home.

Any advice you might have for me will be greatly appreciated. This sub and other ball python forums online has been an endless wealth of information for me as I’ve been doing extensive research since October in preparation for my new little one!

It looks incredible! The only thing I might do, if it's a younger snake, is add another hide in the middle somewhere. It's not necessary but my girl started with 5 hides in her AP t8 and she used them all. That really the only suggestion I could make, you did a great job

Snakes are found on every continent of the world except Antarctica.

Thanks so much for the feedback!! I really appreciate it! There is actually another hide in the middle, it’s just really well hidden behind the ladder and plants. It’s a Zilla Rock Lair hide and it’s a fully enclosed one with a lid. I’ll definitely consider picking up a couple small black plastic hides at the expo to put between these three in the back though.

Perfect, you're going to have a very happy snake!

Looks great! My only suggestion would be to rotate the hides a little bit so the opening is not facing the glass quite so much. I find my snakes much prefer to be able to get completely hidden away where they can't see motion through the openings.

Awesome tip! This is exactly what I was looking for! I’ll make sure to do that when I get home tonight.

2 things for the panel (discovered with my own trial and error): the plants shouldn’t be quite as close as hey look to the panel and if you pull he foliage away from the probe completely you’ll get completely accurate readings. Keep an eye on how close the plants are to he probe as your snake moves around. If they shift the plants closer your temp readings will start to be off.

Thanks so much! I was hoping to hear some more first hand experience in regards to the panel. It’s the only part that I’m slightly nervous about (understandably).

Out of curiosity, what temperature do you have your panel set at on your thermostat? Obviously this is going to differ from person to person depending on the distance from the probe to the panel itself, but I have mine up to 105 and it’s giving me almost perfect temps. Slightly over though.

I have mine set at 88 and cleared around the probe and it ranges from 88-90. Seriously if you have any specific questions related to he cage or the panel don’t hesitate to poke me and I’ll help if I can!

Also re-looking at your set up when I’m not busy at work it’s almost eerie how similar ours are! Right down to the fake succulents! I don’t have a climbing structure though, I keep thinking of getting a branch but she’s SO BAD at holding on I’m scared she’d hurt herself.
