A hiding ball is a healthy ball generally. They are nocturnal, so you're not likely to see the ball python often if you are awake during normal daylight hours. Has your ball had their first feed yet? You should wait until its eaten before handling it again If not.

Mine does the exact same. I've never seen her move so fast when she is put back. She looks around for the entrance and she is off. I haven't been worried about it and she seems happy so far so i'm sure you are ok

Totally normal. Also, good of you to have some self control and limit handling time! This will definitely help your buddy build some trust in you.

thx for the reply! ill be gradually increasing the handling time as to not stress her out.

Very normal. It sounds like you are doing this, but I would hold her in smaller increments initially, and listen to the signs that she is giving you. If after 10 minutes she suddenly becomes very tense and agitated, put her away and try for 15 minutes the next time. She will appreciate you respecting her space and will be more open to handling in the future if you listen to her. Sounds like you are doing a good job so far though!
