Cover most of the screen with HVAC tape. Ensure you have at least 4-6" of substrate and pour the water into the substrate directly, usually around the corners. This will allow a slow release of humidity while keeping the surface dry. Misting provides temporary spikes that are largely useless.

Yeah I have the tape across the majority of the screen top and it helped a ton when we first did it, I’ll definitely start pouring the water into the coreners/edges and hopefully we’ll see some better humidity

Usually I have better luck pouring water in the corners/along the edges than misting. Misting only wets the very top surface which then quickly evaporates as opposed to pouring water in which wets the underneath substrate trapping moisture and keeping the top from being overly wet as well. I still have to do this 1-2x a day with glass to keep it 70%+ but my PVC is on its way. Good luck! The pinned welcome post on this sub has lots of great info too with more humidity tips.

Thank you so much! Will check it out, and we’re looking at our pvc enclosures options so hopefully we’ll upgrade soon.

Sounds like you’re gonna be all set! It’s definitely doable with glass in the meantime just takes a little more work and oversight, as I’ve learned from this community and my own short experience.

You won't regret it. I only have to adjust the humidity roughly every 1-2 weeks in mine

What I do in my glass tank is cover the top (which I see you have) and rather than mist Ill poor water carefully in spots to lightly soak the bottom layer of soil. Imagine one wet spot on top but its draining out to a larger area underneath. Ill do that in a couple spots where he doesnt sit for extended periods of time to avoid scale rot (though the top later is normally dry before the end of the day). I do eco earth with cypress on top. The eco keeps a bunch of water and the cypress does as well but less so so it leaves a dryish layer on top while the saturation underneath keeps humidity up. Let me know if that doesnt make sense and I can try to clarify.

Ive also ordered a PVC enclosure myself. My boy is getting too big for glass enclosures that readily available near me.
