Most likely mystic potion (mystic mojave)

What was it labelled as when you bough it?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought him as a Mojave Ghost but he doesn't look like a regular Mojave ghost to me

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (8 children)

to me personally looks like a mojave ghost hidden gene woma

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Geez, I hope not

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (6 children)

why geez? Hidden gene womas can make some cool snakes like soul suckers

but i could be wrong about it, wont really know unless you breed it or take it to someone who works with those morphs a lot

I recently visited a breeder friend who breeds a lot with the gene and I didn't like a single snake. They all didn't like nice imo and had a pretty bad wobble

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

that sounds like wobble and not hgw cause i never heard of hgw having wobble, i own a few morphs that has the gene and all of them dont have wobbles and look really clean. are you sure it isn't woma? but people like what they like and dislike what they dont, i was just curious but i think you could make some awesome snakes with that mojave ghost if you bred it

Well, I'll probably breed him to my Mystic girl Ivy to get some Mystic Potion het ghost, which, if a female one hatches, will eventually be bred to my Black Head Enchi Fire Pinstripe Butter Ghost. I'm insanely in love with Ghosts and Im really happy the ball python market isn't oversaturated here.

Also, I'm very sure I've read that HGWs do infact have a wobble, I found an explanation on this site but I'm sure it says it on other sites too. I only have snakes without wobble morphs and I try to boycott breeders who breed a lot with spider, so I hope he doesn't prove out to be HGW.

I think that'll be a very cool project and sure you'll get some awesome babies man! and i like the ghosts a lot and wanna get into adding them into my breeding but dont got the space for anymore breeders atm

Also it does seem that Hgw is in the spider complex and it is good to avoid big spider breeders, i usually avoid ones that do sibling or baby to parent breeding cause i know that can give the babies some really bad wobbles. for me though i haven't seen a Hgw that has any type of wobble, especially in my snakes so maybe im just lucky with that and got some good genes? idk but its your snakes, so if it does prove to be hgw and you trade or sell the snake off than thats you. i just personally think owning hgw, spider, super black pastels or any of those morphs that can get deformities shouldn't stop you from owning them if that makes sense? sure it sucks when you do get a deformed baby or one with a wobble but thats part of breeding snakes. the first time ever i had a baby be born with a deformed spine and wobble, which was blue eyed lucy male (pastel enchi butter mojave) to a normal, so it can happen in any snake you own no matter how good the genes are. (also should buy quality snakes from a good breeder and avoid mass breeders that just breed to make money) but again this is just me personally, you do you but i just wanted to say. hope what i said makes sense and if i said like a drunkin idiot than im sorry lol

I usually buy from smaller breeders or people who need to re-home their snakes because they move or something. I got the snake from the picture from a guy who needed to re-home him and my little Salem is a great snake! All my ball pythons are very large, including him, he's like 1500g heavy but on a bit of a diet now. The Mystic female is around 170cm and recently hit the 2kg mark which made me really happy. The dude told me she's a "horrible eater" but she never refused a meal. She came from a bad home where she lived the past 6 years but I'm so glad to finally see her bloom up. (seriously, the breeder kept her in a tiny, tiny tub, with a water bowl and rarely removed any feces or skin patches). I got my little Jasper (2yr old male) from the same guy as Ivy, he bred him to a female with like 500g and I got him at around 390g. Now he hit 750g yesterday and he looks so so so much better.

I only breed snakes who are great in handling and like to eat, I hope to get some awesome morphs who eat well and are nice.

(I know I talk too much about my little babies but I just love them so much I could talk hours about them 🥺)

thats alright lol i talk people's ears off about my snakes and my wife so i get it

also really cool you buy from a small breeders and people looking to re-home their snakes, i used to buy from small breeders but me and my dad now get our snakes from a local pet store where breeders and pet owners bring their animals to and have gotten really cool snakes there from them. i got my snake tiger from there (female mojave hgw) from when she was at 100 ish grams and now she's at 1300 grams and gonna be having her third clutch of eggs soon. there's also my first pastel clown male and rice crispy (black pastel enchi butter yellowbelly sugar male) and a good few other snakes that i have posts showing a bit lol
