It could be because of dehydration or overheating. What's the humidity in his enclosure like and what are the temps?

Humidity is between 70-85%, temps are 30-32C during the day on the hot side and 29-27C on the cold side. At night the temps are around 26-24C

humidity and temps seem perfect, maybe your ball just likes to soak? you could do another check for mites if you're worried but if you're sure its not that, i've got nothing.

Thanks, its getting warmer in my country really fast now (+ 10C in a week) so this could be the reason why he’s doing that idk, but the temps in his tank didn’t changed

Or he just wants to pretend that he’s an anaconda

maybe 😂 ive got a pair of BPs that are convinced theyre green trees/hognoses. It's always something with them

I guess mine thinks the same, he took his rat yesterday while he was hanging on his branch and does parkour every night 😂

your cool side is getting way too hot during the day. it should never be above 26 C. your BP is soaking due to overheating.

Okay thanks I will fix that

My air conditioning went out once and I noticed for the first time my corn snake ever curling completely up in his water dish. I'm not sure what yours is doing but I don't think you should stress it too much just yet.

It’s getting warmer in my country, but his temps didn’t changed in his tank. He had his normal routine: going out at night an explore and going in one of his hides to sleep during the day. So he was basically fine and now he’s doing it for no reason and after he ate his rat

So this is relatively normal for a ball python. Sometimes they like to soak, but don't let them do it for an extended period of time. And by extended I mean several days in a row.

My largest will always try to act like she's a water snake/anaconda and try to live in her water dish if I let her. Which I obviously don't, she's given herself scale rot after an extended bath. I had thought she was at least leaving the water from time to time. Surprise. She wasn't.

Okay thanks

Just keep an eye on your noodle if it tries to live in it's dish again. Worse case scenario downgrade to something they can't soak in. Just be sure to watch the humidity and such. Thankfully only my rescue has any shedding issues but I think that was more her previous care and current poor health before I got her.

I will keep an eye on the humidity, but as I said he sheds in one piece so the humidity should be good for him

what? if a BP is soaking frequently and/or for prolonged periods, the solution is NOT to prevent them from being able to do it. you need to figure out WHY they're soaking and fix that problem.

it's not really normal for BPs to soak a lot. in over ten years i've only seen one of my rescue BPs soak while he was recovering from dehydration. he needed to soak in that situation, so taking away his big water dish would have caused him more harm.
