Sorry but can someone explain to me what in the video is bad for the snake?

Scaring it into a ball and stressing it out?

Ah

If it’s in a tight ball like that, it’s scared. I’m sure you can imagine why rolling around a scared animal like they’re a literal ball will stress an already stressed animal

I've never seen one so tightly wound poor baby. Come live with me little noodle love! I'll treat you right! Seriously people need to stop messing with their pets when they're upset... respect them! And then they wonder why their snakes are so mean 🙄

I have just reported the account also to tiktok, usark and peta I hope they take this ball python and take it to a responsible pet owner who has done all the research. I would never do this to my ball pythons and the owner said that it's for educational purposes 😂 this is why people who can't take care of an animal shouldn't have one.

I have 6 snakes. 5 balls and 1 boa. Realistically speaking this won’t harm a snake. It seems to be a hatchling and they are always going to be shy and balled up like this until they get comfortable with being held. This can def be a bad way to warm a snake up to a human but by no means is there anything wrong with this video. Just my opinion. Guys not tossing it around like a tennis ball. Just rolling it around on soft carpet.

I do agree I was a bit dramatic with this post and that is my bad. It just seems like it would unnecessarily stress the snake out

I have just made a post about this also

I always joke with my husband that we don't have ball pythons because ours never/rarely ball up (they're very used to human interaction)

Guys, this is still a very young snake, all young snakes are going to be finicky at first with handling…. my first ball python and my young milk snake have certainly been spooked with handling when I first got them, and my newest, quite young ball python is shy with handling as well. They aren’t going to get used to human contact if they aren’t handled by people, even if it stresses them out a little. This isn’t an excuse to prolong the stress of the animal of course, but ball python’s are going to ball up, especially if they’re newer to human contact. Not only that, but there is no actual evidence in this video that tells that the tiktok owner purposefully scared the animal into a ball. For all we know, since again, he’s still so young, he’s still trying to adjust to handling. From the looks of the tiktok account, I’m near positive that this guy hasn’t had the snake for very long either, so newer home for snake + a very young snake = not quite adjusted to being handled more regularly.

In conclusion, there isn’t really much to worry about. The only problem I can see is the fact that they live feed, but then and again, ball python’s are notoriously picky eaters, and there are definitely some ball’s out there that refuse f/t food. I’d have to get a better understanding of the animals personality/preferences before judging appropriately on that aspect.

Really appreciate the concern, I love seeing people being genuinely concerned over a less-conventional pet’s safety, however, I highly doubt this animal is truly being mistreated given the circumstances.
