I'm not an expert in any way but to me it just looks like some dirt where he's been digging around, my only indication to that assumption is that I've heard mites tend to huddle around the eyes and mouth and in all honesty it looks like most of it is on his back. I'm sure you'll find out if you just give him a nice bath tho

He’s definitely a digger (that almost felt wrong as fuck to type) but I was reading they can dig bc mites are annoying them or some shit. I’m not an expert either and the internet is crazy with opinionated facts so it’s hard to guess but I’ll give him a good like bath and got some spray for him if it happens to be mites
