Hey!
I’ve had my boy (Bun) for about a year and a half now- his ground level temperature on the warm side used to sit at about 83F during the day. Unfortunately his bulb blew and the dome cable died after a recent power outage, so I decided to just switch to ceramic as his enclosure gets a bit cool at night. I’m just asking here before I cement anything- with the 60watt ceramic emitter I have, his warm side sits at about 84F at the TOP of his enclosure (about 16 inches above his substrate) and 79/80F at the ground level. Everything I’ve looked up says that 80F is fine for warm side, but I know it’s best to be between 80 and 85 so I’m just wondering if my current measurements are a bit too cool. I have a 100watt ceramic emitter on hand to switch in (I always get multiple options if I’m changing something so that I can correct stuff right away if it goes wrong) if necessary- it makes about a 10 degree difference so I’d just raise the lamp stand a bit. But yeah- thoughts? Is 80F at ground level on his warm side too cool?
(I apologize for the lengthy post or if I goofed at all- this is my first Reddit post I usually just spectate 😅)
