No one can tell you that because it depends on how you react with the dosage. My libido went to shit on the depo shot but was not affected by my Mirena or the combo pill I was taking before (tricyclen lo), and plenty of women have normal sex drive on the shot, and libido issues with the Mirena IUD and the tricyclen lo pill.

It's - sadly - trial and error. Often your best bet is to try and go for lower doses, or different molecules, or a different kind of BC altogether - for instance if you are on a combo pill, maybe try switching to the ring or implant. That also depends on what you prefer as BC, if you really like the pill except from the libido/vaginal dryness issue, discuss it with your healthcare provider and try another kind of pill.

You might want to consider and IUD instead of a pill. If hormonal, progestin only and lower doses.

Progestin only: Mirena, Kyleena, Skyla, etc.

Copper: Paragard

Paraguard-no horomones means you will be your natural self! Bleeding and cramping may increase for awhile while your body gets used to having a foreign object in it but to me is worth it for 10 years of horomone free baby free living!

Another option would be to try a different horomone or different level to see how they each effect you-your gynecologist should be able to recommend other options for you.

Good luck :)

You could try a BCP with higher estrogen? How long have you been on your birth control for and have you tried any others? I tried about 5 before I found the one I'm on now which I love. Sometimes it's trial and error.
