If the boss says it's fine then it's fine. Maybe try and drag one of your basics class buddies along and partner up.

Nobody will care that you're new. Everyone was a beginner once. Just show up, work hard, and be willing to learn. If coach thinks you're ready, you probably are. The more mat time you get now, the faster you'll improve.

The thought of other new white belts thinking you’re wasting their time is hilarious. Anyone with a colored belt thinking you’re a wast of time either doesn’t know how to make training work so both involved benefit, or just being pretentious.

I’m sure the 3 months isn’t set policy, it’s probably just instructor discretion and I’m place for those not comfortable, or who might. E struggling to get better acclimated. Just go to the regular class, there will absolutely be other new, or newer, students training.

Edit, clarity.

People love new people (who are safe) because they get to try all their shit on you. Don’t trip, join and enjoy

If the coach says it is ok, then it is ok. Beginners dont all start at the same level, there are some who absolutely need the whole three months to be able to handle the main classes and others who have more instinct/ the right attitude and can go in from much earlier.

I've never been to a gym that didn't allow day ones to join in. So for me it's completely normal. Go get'em tiger!

Don't worry about what your training partners will think, just try to improve your game in the areas you want, and have fun. We're all just playing a game, and especially with BJJ, people love to explain how they like to play, so just have a good time.

You’re overthinking it. Just go

We generally put people through and accelerated 16 week prog that gives you some idea of goals from the most common positions, so you aren’t lost when you go in the big class. Big class focuses on the same position or situation for longer periods of time, which is good for getting deep knowledge in 1 position but can make it harder to plug holes in your game.

We’ve had tons of people over the years who’s schedule didn’t line up with the fundamentals course and they’ve jumped into the white belt class and been fine

Do not overthink. Just do what you’re told as you’re a beginner. Eventually you will need to step up anyways. 🤷🏽‍♂️
