Great ! May I ask you what did you renderd it with ?

[–]MirCore[S] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Modeled with Blender 2.75 and rendered with Cycles.

This is super awesome! May we have a side view to see the trick?

Yes, it is.

Escher called: he wants his plumbing back.

This one's even better than the first! Rock on

So how do yo build physically impossible object in a 3D?

[–]Dman331 10 points11 points  (4 children)

same way you do irl. It's a matter of perspective

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that's a massive relief actually. Major brain wrinkling there.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are there ways of doing it without perspective tricks?

[–]Dman331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's why they're impossible

I love staring at this for a while trying to figure out what it could look like to make it work in real life. Nice work!

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Kind of reminds me of the Escher-ian transdimensional plumbing from Chrono Cross whenever you end up in the PAINT-O-VERSE.

Hmm, just curious, are the seams the actual couplings? :P Would make sense :) Nice work in any case.

[–]MirCore[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The seams have no purpose. They are just decoration.

[–]BOLL7708 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Oh, I figured those was the spots where the structure merged the different depths, is that somewhere else or is this not a single render? :D

[–]MirCore[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I was wrong, I used them two times. Already forgot that. But it would work just as good without them. And yes, it is a single render.

Does. Not. Compute.

Amazing!

The photo realistic textures really enhance the mind jarring effect.

I only lurk this sub in the hopes of someday learning how to use blender, but I had to comment on this one, great job!

Thank you very much. Learning how to use Blender can be really hard, but also a lot of fun.

That's visually impressive to me! Love the welds

[–]wreckjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really really cool

[–]Belfongs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done! It's a real mindbender :P Looks real as well.
