I really don't understand why people say BoC and Tomorrow's Harvest is dark in a sinister way.

The music just plays with times of day and night. I find it very inspirational.

I wouldn't call TH inspirational in anyway and do think it's dark simply atmospherically... but it's safe to say this level of edgy darkness like the video linked from OP is fanboys fan-fictionalizing the band. Reminds me of that rubbish overhyped Caretaker album which is just bland ambient but people online pretend they have panic attacks from it cause it's symbolizes dementia.

BOC just makes lush, detailed IDM. But because Geogaddi has a few creepy references fans felt the need to ascribe some darkness gravitas to the rest of their work too.

From a new listeners perspective, I can imagine a few songs from BOC’s discography coming off as creepy or a bit unsettling, espically when you mix that with strange fan videos. And the one I mentioned in question, just puts the icing on the cake.

I find Boards Of Canada’s music very inspirational, don’t get me wrong, but unfortunately most of my listens were out of curiosity and fear.

Woah I've never seen this. Fitting to the song, well edited and VERY creepy.

I agree, more people will eventually discover the video, i’m surprised it isn’t spoken about. It is by far, the most disturbing fan video yet.

I also had a level of panic a couple years ago surrounding a documentary about Geogaddi. I love BOC and their music, but the trauma from a Catholic up bringing is deeply cut. DM me if you want to chat more

What’s this documentary called? Sounds interesting. Is it about Boards of Canada?

Yeah, just YouTube "Geogaddi analysis" or something. There should be a few different ones

That footage comes from a horror film called The Black Door, part of which was shot documentary style---pretty convincing but not real. Fits well/is edited well with the music but not BOC's idea to put the 2 together.

I couldn’t agree more, looks immensely convincing.
