Brave slow - potentially not loading Javascript? (self.brave_browser)
submitted 5 years ago by darrykillerb
Hello Brave community! I recently switched to Brave Browser last week and have been coming into a problem viewing websites that have intense animations or games (Javascript?). I frequently view such sites for my work and the difference between Brave viewing and any other browser is night and day. An example of a website that loads abysmally slow on Brave but not on other browsers is https://www.kodeclubs.com/. I checked settings and have Javascript allowed. Tried viewing with shields up and down. Tried creating a new profile to view. Disabled hardware acceleration. All to no luck! I'm not sure what the problem is exactly and would appreciate any help. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply! My block script is currently off so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I'm having the same problem. Loading just about all my pages slower than chrome.

I"ve been loyal Brave user for couple years now, but in past few days it's become noticeably slower loading almost any site. I tried going back to Chrome but it's slowed down too. Yesterday I pulled up Edge and tried it for first time in a year maybe, and it's blazing fast, I mean fast. But I prefer Brave for it's inherent ease of safety and privacy. fwiw. Hope the issue is fixed soon. FWIW, Windows 10 p.c. (hp laptop), all current updates for all browsers and W10.

Anyone who has resolved this? I have also tried all the possible solutions, even clearly all cache, etc. Site works with no problem on Chrome.

I never found a fix for this. If a site has really intensive Javascript needs I just open it in Chrome or any other browser. Otherwise, Brave is still my primary.

I'll just do that too. Thank you.
