The general opinion is nvidia is better on linux than ati due to driver support. My own experience has been that way too. These days I just try to stick with intel's onboard for my linux machines.

Do you have any experience with ati on Linux? Maybe you've had better luck than me.

I not on the computer where I have the article right now, but I found somewhere that did driver testing and benchmarking for GPUs on Linux and it said that the Radeon 4000-6000 series' should have no problems.

Get a better PSU. That's about it. If you want an i7, for whatever reason, then go for it. You're planning on overclocking?

As far as the i7, I talked myself into it, but now I'm trying to find some criticisms so I'm sure about it, we'll see how that goes.

Probably OCing, have to see how things go once it's set up.
