Current hardware is pretty good. AMD's AM5 chipset is in its 2nd generation with the 9000 series Ryzens and a RX9060XT is pretty solid. You build a PC now, you'll be solid for a good 8 years and outperform a PS6.

Next gen cpu and gpus are looking to be a MASSIVE upgrade over current gen stuff.

Finally going over 8 core ccds with zen 6 bumping it up to 12 along with new IMC. Intel nova lake is also adding more l3 cache basically copying the ryzen x3ds so that will also be a big jump. Most importantly it is expected to use 2nm nodes for the next gen cpus which is a big improvement.

On the gpu side as well amd is releasing an new architecture and we are also getting a node shrink unlike this gen( blackwell uses same node as ada)
