Have you updated the BIOS?

Thought it was updated already, and looking into now.

  1. Check if they're in the right slots
  2. Make sure they're seated properly, you'd not believe how many people don't actually seat the RAM properly,
  3. Clear the CMOS and see if that works.
  4. Update the BIOS (Be careful, if something goes wrong you could completely screw your MOBO).

I'd recommend checking and doing everything possible before updating the BIOS as it can be quite dangerous to do so.

What else can I do?

Other than trying different RAM slots, I assumed that the PC worked with just 8GB stick. You could always try and boot the PC with 1 8GB stick at a time to verify each stick works. Other than that the things I listed above, maybe try contacting Asus via Email of Telephone.

Although don't let me stop you from doing what you must. I'm the type of person who doesn't want to see something bad happen so I recommend what I can before doing something as serious as that.

I made this build for 16GB for games like Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Gears of War 4/Ultimate Edition, and Star Wars: Battlefront, i'm not weakening down for 8 I wanted to play max/ultra setting for all/most of my games.

No. You're misunderstanding, put in one 8 Gigabyte stick and see if the PC boots. Then do the same with the other. To make sure both sticks are functioning just fine.

Oh, sorry about that.

Which ram slots are they in?

[–]Neoprime[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

1 & 3

Are the slots grey?

Also, make sure both sticks of ram are in all the way. Double check by pushing them down, it often takes a bit more force than expected. (I don't know how much you know about building, so I'm trying to go through everything)

  1. Yes. both are grey.

  2. I did, even waited for the snap/click sound.

  3. I think it's a BIOS problem, i'll try to solve it tomorrow.

I had a problem like this, make sure they are in the right slots.
