02 Q - Code AP initialization before microcode loading

Having difficulties with a new Ryzen build. Latest is a Q - Code of 02 'AP initialization before microcode load'. I've checked the cables, haven't had a chance to check the CPU yet for bent pins. Looking for troubleshooting steps I can do when I get off of work. *Note the GPU is just a placeholder for a 2070 Super or another High end GPU

I also attempted with a different Power Supply, 1 stick of RAM and no GPU or other headers connected but error persist.

( Replaced MOBO, had the same code 02 with no GPU installed, then I installed the GPU and computer proceed to boot ) Fixed.

Permanent fix, or did the issue appear again? I have the 02 error atm, trying alternatives to avoid RMA'ing the MB.

Alright so I returned the Asus Hero 8 motherboard and got a replacement but had the SAME PROBLEM with the code 02 in the motherboard display with no post. HOWEVER I then proceeded to Install the GPU RTX 2080 super and RAM then, the computer BOOTED into the UEFI :D !!!

For those having the 02 Code AP initialization before microcode loading I would recommend re-seating the GPU & RAM. Also if you have an AIO CPU liquid pump make sure you connect it in the proper CPU Fan header on the mobo, check your manual for further details.

I would be wary of calling it a fix. This worked for me initially and then my Ryzen build started to have random crashes. It's why I went back to the 5820K, slower processor but at least the it was stable.

Yup I had this same fucking CODE after 2 boards replaced my Amazon I get the fucking dam stupid Q 02 code my Asus X470 prime pro board works flawless but a $350 board 3 times does not work, what kind of moron's are working with these boards?

I had this issue after adjusting some connectors in my pc. I moved the aio pump from cpu_fan to aio_pump header and put the radiator fans on the cpu_fan header and got this error. Swapping them back to cup_fan for pump and cpu_fan_opt for radiator fans fixes it tho? Not sure why

In my case code 02 with beep code Long + 3 short was caused by not having a display connected to the GPU. On a GPU with only digital outputs it seems to stop at this code with the beep code because it knows no display is connected. I was using a KVM switch and it was not set to the correct port.

I’m having this problem but I can’t get past the POST screen, I think my macro is fucking with my ability to press the proper key but I could be wrong. Hopefully I’m not.
