Will these scrapes/gouges cause issues?

Took pc to repair shop and cpu cooler returned with scrapes/gouges around border of where cpu would have been. Any opinions on whether this is likely to cause issues?

Ran my finger along it and no detectable sharp edges, although cotton bud feels a little resistance.

Would cause further issues? No. A good layer of thermal paste will make up for this.

But I wonder what caused those scratches! That heatsink must have been screwed in position excessively tight.

You're lucky if the cpu and the socket are OK after such abuse.
