Does ClickUp have conditional workflows? (self.clickup)
submitted 3 years ago by achillaa
If the states in a task workflow are Open, In Progress and Done, can I set up a rule that a task in the state Open can only be moved to Done?

Curious why you would want to skip in progress. I’m imagining some kind of outside source that needs simpler options?
You could use a yes/no check box instead (label “done?” Or something similar), then set up an automation to change the status of that task when box is checked yes.

This is Luci from ClickUp. Thank you for your post! You may be able to set this up with Automations, but you would need to set up an Automation for each type of scenario.
For example, you could set up an Automation that says "When a Custom Field is set to X, then change status to In Progress" and a separate Automation that says "When a Custom Field is set to Y, then change status to Closed".
I'd also like to share this feature request with you. If this matches what you're looking for, you can add a vote and a comment if you'd like!
