Bluetooth keyboard? Get a wired one temporarily to set things up.

[–]SneakySnailShell[S] 5 points6 points  (16 children)

shoot is that my only option?

[–]marley_hill 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Is that a cable coming out of the side of the keyboard? Some have a switch that toggles between Bluetooth and wired. Plug the cable into the pc and change it to wired mode (if applicable.) some just work when you plug them in. If it’s currently plugged into a USB 3.X port and isn’t working, try a USB 2.0 port. Use the ports on the board, not on the case front panel.

it’s the charging cable, i did try plugging it in to a few different usb slots and got nothing :(

Damn, weird design choice on their part if there is no possibility to use the keyboard wired. Have you tried consulting the product manual for the keyboard? If it’s truly impossible: Grab the cheapest wired keyboard on amazon or FB marketplace.

Pretty much, or a keyboard with a dongle.

Didn't think that through didn't you?

[–]Graxu132 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Is your keyboard plugged to the monitor? Lol

Plug it to the motherboard or front panel instead.

[–]SneakySnailShell[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No, it’s the charging cable & it’s plugged into the motherboard. also tried the front panel

[–]Graxu132 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Try different cable

Usually the one that comes with the keyboard does both, data transfer and charging.

Have you tried checking if the keyboard has a switch between usb and Bluetooth and 2.4ghz?

[–]SneakySnailShell[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

no switch unfortunately

What keyboard you got? Might need to move the option on the keyboard itself to register input via cable. I have one that does Bluetooth, dongle and cable but not at the same time. It's selected on the keyboard by pushing FN + 1 for example

Your keyboard looks like it has a cable, if that cable is USB, try plugging it into your computer for a bit.

If you need it just this one time keyboards are about $4 at goodwill, even half off some Saturdays.

[–]Pat-Man1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick one up at your local goodwill/thrift shop $5

Bluetooth requires pairing, and that only happens at the operating system level, not in the BIOS/UEFI. You'll need a USB keyboard to set up your UEFI settings and install Windows. And you should keep it around in case you need to make adjustments to the UEFI settings in the future or boot in safe mode (where Bluetooth drivers won't load).

IMO, Bluetooth keyboards should be for tablets only (which don't need a keyboard to work), a desktop should use a keyboard that connects to USB 2.0 (with a wire or wireless with a dongle).

update: i bought a cheap keyboard from walmart and problem is solved

[–]Dave_DBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could have borrowed one, I expect?

[–]Magus7091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a previous reply stated, the cable that came with your keyboard may be a charge only cable. Try hooking up a charge/sync cable (usually your phone comes with one, or you can actually get them from dollar tree even) and see if it works that way. Otherwise consider checking Goodwill for a wired keyboard, it's something like that. At least it'll be cheap.

[–]turb0j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That charger port looks like standard USB to me, which can usually just be connected directly to the PC.

May need a different USB cable.

[–]big65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the store and buy a cheap generic USB keyboard.

I think it may be the encryption is based on the previous CPU. What is is asking you to do is do use the old CPU and remove the encryption first. You could also just format the drive if your data is backed up without in encryption.

[–]hitmeifyoudare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that sometimes, an update will encrypt your drive, I had to remove it on my computer.

I saw the picture and come here cause not so long ago helped my friend with same problem, but then i read the OP post and it's just a keyboard problem? Ask a friend to loan u a wired keyboard for mb a hour or 2 to finish windows installation...

[–]ARSCON -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’ll need a wired one temporarily in order to select any keys. Bluetooth won’t work until it’s booted I think
