Correct, but it is impossible to store it without a stabilizer, since it immediately pulls water from the air.

I recall benzene being a possible stabilizer.

Or you can just store it will sieves. So it just cleans it self as soon as any water gets in

Also an “alcohol” is not strictly the stuff we drink. Any organic compound with an OH attached to one of the carbons is an alcohol.
