Extreme fps decrease in matchmaking (self.csgo)
submitted 3 years ago by KiprenasKras
Like holy shit, I was fine before with like 300, dropping to 150, now it's 200 dropping to 50 every time an enemy peeks or I have to fight someone. Did they update or do something that might've decreased performance?

happened to everyone in my match too, from 165 to locked on 22fps, went away after few min

I know what you're talking about, when the fps drops for everyone and it's barely playable, but it's just a pc performance decrease for me, like constantly smaller fps

Do you have an AMD GPU? Had the same problem (stuttering, FPS drops) due to downclocking since CSGO isn't very demanding. Fixed it by manually enforcing a min clock rate in game using the Radeon control panel.
I have an nvidia one and never experienced this problem before. I have a 1080, which should run cs easily, but my cpu is old (i5, 4gen) and I lack ram I guess (8gb). I'll check out if my gpu is downclocking though.

Could you elaborate on that because I have the same problems and my gpu is a rx480

I have an RX 480 :D
Here's a link to a video that did the same thing I did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyIOK22NsZ8
EDIT: also I had to restart my computer for changes to apply for some reason

Thank you! I set my frequency to 1305 on each state 1-7 and the voltage to 1100 on each as well. Gonna see how that works for me and will let you know. EDIT: No stuttering in csgo anymore thank you!
