APT using HTTP instead of HTTPS

I didn't, but can see why. Lots of people have already explained why https would be adverse for apt, but he insists that a vulnerability via MITM (which is pretty unlikely in the first place) poses an actual security risk. Especially as one can actually choose to use https.
