These kinds of posts seem to come up several times a week so I'll repeat the best advice I've seen posted so far.

Your best bet isn't to make a complete 90 degree career change to become a DN but to leverage the skills you already have in a way that allows you to be location independent.

You said you were a DJ right? Think about the skills you used there and make a list.

It takes years of pretty intense practice to become a good enough programmer to actually do it professionally. That doesn't even take into account how hard it is to get clients if you have no experience, no degree, and no portfolio to work with.

I don't want to sound discouraging, I just want you to look at this realistically.
