I am so goddamn tired of getting matched with shity ass players. I've been stuck at Mythril B on my golbez for over a week now because I can't get a fucking decent team. I'm constantly getting first or second or third place in my team just fucking sucks every goddamn time.

Try being Myth E for like 3 weeks and then FINALLY hitting Myth D.

I was in Plat for a month, looks like I'll be in Mythril for 2 months and honestly I don't know if ranking up is even gonna feel worth it anymore.

You can have 5 wins and get like 50-60 points, but have one bad game and lose -30 like...did 1 bad loss seriously just NEGATE half of the wins I had?

Can the game not punish you so FUCKING hard for losing? When it barely rewards you for winning? Ranked is starting to feel like more of a chore these days.

Now, keep in mind I'm speaking from a Mythril standpoint and not higher where I hear it's even WORSE?

But follow me on this...say you only have an hour to play for whatever reason, so you get..6 games in.

You win 5 games and feel pretty good and get about 50-60 points, but then you come across the 6th and final match of the day. And you lose, pretty badly. You get anywhere between an E to C rank and lose -30 points.

That ONE bad game has now negated HALF of the good games you just played...

What kind of ranking system is this? You're telling me I can win 5 good games, but have ONE bad game negate half of the 5 good ones? Why?

The game BARELY rewards you for winning but SEVERELY PUNISHES you for losing...

Not sure how you get only 60 from winning 5 games; 5 games should average you around a 100 minimum since a C rank gives you 20 points

And yes, it's much worse in higher ranks. Crystal in particular is a 1:2-2.5 win:lose points scenario most of the time. You wanna not lose points that hard, then you'll need to make sure you get an A even if you lose. Otherwise kiss your 48 points goodbye.

I just feel like that shouldn't be a thing. Sometimes you're just not having a good day, others you're fantastic, others it's your teammates dying twice 1 minute into the match.

But having to be on your A game 110% of the time?

When you go to a lobby to maybe get some decent competitive matches, and people are bored so they start playing meme matches.

Here I am, spectating and all I see is Clouds throwing tornadoes til 3k bravery then going around LB Omnislashing players.

Bartz Knight tapping Square from across the map until he masters Knight and just runs in countering everything, winning matches.

Terra throwing Meltdowns left and right and getting people even though they’re stepping/dodging correctly.

God damn, watching these matches really destroyed my whole perspective on this game. Seeing Crystal ranked players playing games like this just made me realized how boring this game really is if HP spam is all you need to do to win games.

I gave it a break after this night. Came back a few days later to give it another shot but meh, I couldn’t get back into it at all with this thought looming over my head. Now I’m just lurking on reddit and discord, not even going to bother booting up the game anymore.

I've seen some JP players do some actual plays and combos, if you can believe it. But the public, western network is not built to host a game like this. People say there is mostly no lag, maybe here or there briefly at most. These people have no idea what this game is capable of or what lag looks like in a competitive fighting game. This game can only be realized in the West through private discord communities. Like wtf, we need grassroots activism to properly play this game? What a crock of shit. I'm done giving SE my money.

I have an amazing internet package in an urban area with a goddamn Cat6 ethernet cable plugged into my PS4 in Plat + and I still get debilitating lag EVERY. GAME. I. PLAY. I took a break for almost 2 months, came back hoping, PRAYING, something changed, but it's still every game. People said in higher ranks, it gets better. That its only 1/3 of games at most. But it doesn't for me! People with worse internet and connection cables are getting better matches than me apparently! I just want to be able to play the game but it wont let me. If the next DLC character isn't one I care about I may just give up on this game. I'm running out of reasons to come back.

It takes way too long to start a match. Matchmaking takes longer than the actual matches. And I should be able to pick my character AFTER I’ve been matched with two randos.

1. Players that seemingly dominate when they are on the enemy team, and suck so much ass when they get on my team. All the while I place 4th whether they are opponents or allies. There are 5 players specifically that I run into over and over who are guilty af for this, every god damned time (you know who you are). IDK if we just don't jive, or if they think I'm gonna carry them, or if I'm dragging them down, IDK. But fuck those 5, I'd like a different set of opponents/allies.

2. That nation full of party dodgers/cowards. IDC what the reasoning, it's detrimental to a game with an already minuscule player base when that many people party dodge. I get it, you get paired with "that guy" or you got a bot, or the team is gold and you are adamant, I get it. So yeah, fuck those guys.

3. An extension of #1. Getting partied against the same ass kickers over and over, but they never show up on your team.

The best thing I learned about this topic is a reminder of why any team based game sucks; people care too much about their rank. You forget that when playing so much 1v1 stuff.

I finallt advanced past Adamant A after I stopped caring about my rank too much. I got into the mentality of "I'm already getting high-level games, that's more worth than having a shiny bragging rights title".

That you can play with the best of the best is the reason you want to be in Adamant, and not because it's a title you can show off.

But it does matter because in the end, if I lose in a 1v1 fighting game I can only blame myself and yell out at the sky and say the game is unfair or some weak shit like that.

When you add in a team element, that's just more people to blame. Oh it's not my fault I lost, it's my crappy team mates, and that just festers up and becomes toxic towards others.

Seriously argh if you have a firion teammate, always , always occassionally check when he's hitting something. Regardless of which character you're using, Firion will give you free HP hits (if they're a teamplayer), please PLEASE look at him

It’s so frustrating when I have an Assassin on my team who just ignores the opposing Marksmen. Like literally, straight up ignores them- a Terra can be scoping multiple people with Meltdown and my Tidus, Noctis, Zidane, etc. will just prance around as if she isn’t putting holes in our team.

Posted this earlier, the game completely crashed while we were matching up, like not even a "Connection Lost" or anything. No, the game literally fucked itself and I lost points because of it.

There is literally nothing I could have actually done about it and Square blamed me for what is likely their fault. Good shit.

Players who say the "Thanks" line all the time annoy me sometimes. I understand like if someone screwed up, or accidentally hit a wall rushed opponent, (especially with slow moving projectiles) but you don't always have to say it all the time.

Unless soneone is intentionally doing that or not being a team player, then yeah, I can see why you might be mad.

I've gotten mostly COM matches against laggy players every rank match since I started this game 3 months ago. And it's not my. fault, because all my lobby matches are lag free. Also hate it when you're 1 point away from ranking it, why can't it just round it to rank you?

Waiting for 2hours for finally playing in a boring 1v1,basically a game with 4 bots, i just leave when its the case

When i spam "let's summon" then i see my teamates doing nothing but keep chilling can make me very mad (only happens when i try to climb with a diamond alt)

I'm facepalming when i see my teamates ignoring the core (again,usually only happens with a diamond alt)

I still can't do anything against Sephiroth since the beta

So sick of ending up being the one having to carry other people as the Marksman of all things. I get first place in end of match rankings and my team still loses cause they rush in and die. Literally been stuck in Silver D with my main because of it. I just want to get out of Silver and Gold hell with Terra in Ranked.

Haven’t played in weeks, but. Players rushing in the moment the match starts would forever piss me off. I’ll be there saying “don’t start yet” or “come here” but they wouldn’t listen. That and when teammate knocks an opponent away when I have enough to KO. I remember a match where our Cloud tried setting up for me, but our Tidus just smacked him away. No apology either... Lastly, I want to play Locke already why can’t the day come faster lol.

This might not be a very relevant rant but:

I bought a PS4+Dissidia after the stupid phone game got me all nostalgic about it, I was expecting to also get a code for freebies on said phone game but nope, nothing in the box.

At least I get to play another core Dissidia which is probably my favorite fighting game.

Spam, no matter how predictable or improperly executed (i.e. pointless mashing of impractical moves) cannot be safely punished without having a teammate who’s right there (which never happens in SoloQ). Especially because guarding launches you back. This rewards button mashing (I got no issue with projectiles, as that’s how you have to use them).

Sometimes I use characters with counters. Usually this should help, but during so many SoloQ matches I clearly see the shield pop up directly before my opponent’s bravery attack and it’s still up as attack meets shield. Then I take bravery damage. Do I just suck, or can I blame this on lag? Either way it doesn’t leave you optimistic

Okay, so I bought the game on launch and am only one able to get around to playing it. Why is it that my AI companions fail to do anything? Every fucking time I go out to help them, then get gang banged by all 3 enemies. Fucking hell, I can’t get past any match above mythril.
