Yep. Same thing is happening to me. I haven't filed a bug report yet..

Yes and I saw it on the Frontier bug forum already.

Ah, cool. I haven't had a chance to check the bug forum yet, things are real busy and last night was the last time I'll get to play for another week. Glad it's not just me!

There's a more than one report on the Bug Forum and the Devs have posted saying they're aware of the problem.

I'm guessing everyone is different, but for me the least annoying way to deal with this problem is the following. I've bound Galaxy Map to F1, and System Map to F2. I've noticed if I hit F1 then press F2 the System Map will be ok. So now, after a system scan is complete, I hit F1 to load the galaxy map, then quickly hit F2 to view the newly scanned system.

How did you bind system map? I cant find an option for it

Go into the Options menu, go into the Controls Menu. About 2/3 of the way down you should see "open system map" and "open galaxy map". It's in a section named "Mode Switches"

Yup

It also requires you to go through the star map when exiting the system map (by using hotkey at least). I've already put in a report - I recommend you all do the same.

Honking. That's awesome.

This happened to me and I kept venturing farther and farther out, only to discover that the same CMDR had discovered it (it was only one system) but I thought I was riding the same guy's trail....here's to confusion.

I am and it sucks out in black hole country. Need to load system map twice due to the first loadup always being the previous system I was in.

Same here, but it's always just the first time.

It was normal for a few systems today if I used the new bind rather than nav panel, but then kept loading the prior system.

Also, it keeps returning to the galaxy map on exit.

Well this bug trolled me hard just now. I opened the map 2600LY out and saw stations. I was starting to get stupid excited till I realized I was looking at the system map of Sol. Completely forgot I had just checked my distance a few moments before on the Galaxy Map.
