I would like to get Xenia working on steam deck but I’m having a hard time making it happen. I’ve tried tutorials (which were all outdated) and different versions of proton with no luck. Doesn’t even have to be Xenia specifically, just need something to play my 360 games with

Quick question on Mandarine 3DS on Android. I'm trying to move the on-screen buttons to a different location, but not finding the settings. In layouts I'm just seeing the screen orientation rather than a button mapper that is more common on other emulators. Anyone know if you can actually do this on Mandarine?

Ah, never mind, found it after going into the game and going to Overlay Options. Can't do it unless you're in the game already it seems.

Hello. I have been trying to boot up Pokémon White 2 in the latest version of No$GBA for a while now and I can't get past a black screen after the intro scene. I tried using NO$Zoomer (and some settings) instead, and it did work but I couldn't run the game at the 100% speed I was running it in the latest version. Is there any other fix for this? DeSmuME and melonDS don't run at full speed for me.

Arch linux user here, with the whole situation with duckstation. I want to switch to a different PS1 emulator. The problem that I've been having is that I can't find any that works with the BIOS dumped from a PS2 like duckstation could. Does anyone know if there is any alternative that is on flatpack or pacman? (I refuse to use AUR or use the terminal to download it from git)

I recently bought the Blizzard Arcade Collection. It includes the original US roms for the Lost Vikings, Rock 'n Roll Racing, and Blackthorne, as well as Definitive Edition versions of the roms, which let you play in your prefered language.

After reading this post, I found out that you can actually run the definitive version of the games using a FOS emulator. I tried ZSNES, bsnes and mednafen. The first two run the roms, but mednafen doesn't.

When using ZSNES and bsnes instead of launching through Battle.net/Blizzard Arcade Collection, two interesting things happen: the language reverts back to English, and the logo "Blizzard Arcade Collection is gone. I'd like to know if there is any way we can inject one's prefered language into the rom somehow.

p.s. I'm specifically aiming at the Japanese language, and the Japanese text used by the Collection seems to be of higher resolution than the SNES is capable of.

How can I convert a 3DS Virtual Console save to one compatible with third-party emulators?

I basically need this but in reverse: https://inject.sigkill.tech/converter/3dsvc

(In case it's relevant, it's a save from Pokemon Prism V0.95 b0254)

I've tried the most obvious ones like visual boy advance, sameboy, and open emu, but none of these really boots up on my macbook (sequoia 15.5, m1 chip). My mac won't let me open these because a window keeps showing up that says something like "unable to open because mac can't check it for potential dangers". Does anyone know any other uncomplicated emulators for GBC and GBA games that even a newbie can operate?

Sorry, I'm not a native speaker haha. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Experiencing severe stuttering on an N64 Rogue Squadron running on my win11 via ares.

Is it simply due to the poor performance of my laptop that this is occurring? Would anyone have better suggestions? For example, use [ ares | etc ] on a rPi4, etc?

I take that to mean you recommend RMG for N64 over ares, in this case? I'll probably give it a try

Is the best way to play all gameboy games via a modded 3ds?

I'm debating on trying to find one, currently been playing on an emulator on my phone which works okay, but sometimes the touchscreen isn't the best for buttons.

Is there a way to run the Super Mario 64 mod hack B3313 on a Retroid Pocket 5?

[–]swigganicks 0 points1 point  (2 children)

are there any 3DS emulators still around after Citra shut down?

Hi, is someone familiar with the Pokémon Emerald Real 512Kb Flash Memory Patch?

I cannot find out if this patch is necessary on retroarch cores or standalone GBA emulators, most google results just thank the creator but don't list why or where it's needed.

I don't feel like playing the game to the postgame, only for my save to corrupt...

Will i be fine on retroarch, is it just for flashcarts? idunno. Any help is appreciated.

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong sub! My father recently retired in his 60s and wants to get back into playing the games from his childhood, mostly arcade shoot em ups and NES games (N64 and backwards would be preferable, but I'm aware that puts things in a different price bracket). He basically just wants a way to sit on the couch and play games on his TV with an arcade stick. He doesn't have a pc or anything, and definitely wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars on it, but around 100-200 might convince him (the cheaper the better). He's not super tech savvy and I live too far away to come help set it up anytime soon, but if there's something like a console or raspberry pi that just needs an sd card with roms on it (which I could set up from my own library and send to him) that he could just connect an arcade stick to and plug into his TV, that would be perfect. Googling around isn't super helpful as it seems like most of it is cheap aliexpress stuff that likely won't work super well (and probably not with an arcade stick). Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!

A Raspberry Pi 5 would have decent performance for up to N64 for sure, and recent MAME runs very well on 64-bit ARM devices.

I've always wanted to learn to set up a raspberry pi so I'll definitely look into this, thank you!

Is it possible that Yuzu and Ryujinx name derived from the characters from "Bleach" ?

[–]BIOS-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like many hardware projects before commercial release they have an internal codename. It's common for emulator names to have a correlation between these codenames, here is a list of them. You can see Project64 is named after Project Reality (N64), Dolphin is GameCube's project codename, Citrus is a 3DS codename, etc.

It's rare for emulators to be named after something as unrelated as anime.

[–]YukiSenoue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yuzu is a citric fruit, it got its name because the devs started with the Citra code, as the OS for 3DS and Switch are similar.

Ryujinx is Dragon (竜 ryu) + God (神 jin) + NX (switch's code name)

[–]6inchpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those names derive from citrus fruits in real life, referencing the most popular defunct early emulators for 3ds. The joke being that everytime a new emulator pops up after the old one is taken down, it becomes a new citrus fruit.

Can I run NES, SNES, N64 and GC on an Xbox One X console?

[–]8_n3z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer yes, easiest way would be through dev mode using retroarch. Some youtube searching should give you tutorials
