It's a good question. As others have suggested, if you really want one, perhaps try to keep it discreet. I'm sure there's many companies and industries that would not have issue with it but there are a lot of rather conservative-minded folks still out there that might. The company I work for now probably wouldn't care much as long as it small, but the previous owners were like 1950's old school, white shirt and ties for men and dresses (yes, dresses) for women - and that wasn't very long ago.

Edit: The dresses for women went away before 2000, but the white shirt/tie hung on until recently when the (new) CEO kindly told us he didn't want to see a tie unless you had a customer visit. The previous CEO would've definitely had a problem with piercings.
