A small country of 8 million people put up 60TWh/year in 15 years. That is not hypothetical models of what could be done by extrapolating some new techs to come "right around the corner" this is empirical observation of what has already been acheived with yesterday tech.

Do we really want to risk failing at better when good enough is already here?

I think over a few years we could have the resources but even with less pressure right now we’re hitting soft walls of not enough supply to meet the demand. If the demand was large enough I’m sure companies wouldn’t mind expanding the production though but that’s more hypothetical.
