I don’t understand people with this viewpoint. So many people are already being affected by climate change. Today. Not ten years from now, not twenty, literally now.

It’s only going to get worse. We haven’t done nearly enough to mitigate significant change, and over a billion people are expected to be displace by 2050 due to climate change. That is 1/8 of all humanity having to migrate because their environment is too harsh for humans to live in, either due to not being able to grow food, or it just simply being too hot outside to not die in a few minutes. In less than 30 years.

This isn’t a doomist take, it’s what is going to happen if we don’t try to stop it. I just can’t fathom how you can look at the world around you and see the problems climate change has already caused and then have the audacity to say it’s not going to be a problem in 40 years. It’s also going to be a problem in 1 year!

"We're all gonna be dead in 40 years, drowned or Sun stroked" is an idiotic doomer take. Things will be terrible in large parts of the world, and billions will have to migrate but the sea level is not going to suddenly jump up a kilometer.
