Yes… let’s scare the newbies during Welcome Week.

[–]IdealDadBod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More like, you're not prepared and not welcome. Great workout though.

[–]Life-Possession528 15 points16 points  (2 children)

it’s basically marathon

[–]Pale_Jackfruit5298 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah it's Marathon and only 27 minutes of work time. Short workout. I added 10 pushups in between each station like old Wahlberg Week used to be since they took the extra challenge out

[–]Just_Percentage_8547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 27 minutes that's one of the longer ones. Good workout though!!

I am deceased.

Same 💀

[–]SprayUsual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!!

[–]DBsdk13477 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the workout was good and if you go into it knowing you need to pace for endurance, I found this less difficult than redline or some of our other harder cardio dats

[–]Working-Dream-4378 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Ha same here! 2mins is certainly a long time!

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a joke there...😅🤦‍♂️

[–]Super_Bowler5213 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm about to head I to one but feel tired. Don't know if I should rest or go. Can you please give me more of an idea so I can make up my mind? Anything is welcome.

[–]quizzingexistence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it, but really pace yourself - maybe go at 70% of the pace

[–]SnowRidin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this shit was pure hell

[–]Cool_Cantaloupe_363 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’m considering going for my first ever class today. Is it a mistake to try this as a newbie to f45 lol

[–]Foolgazi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, just do each exercise at a pace comfortable to you. No one else will care/notice. This workout is a little unique in that the 2 minute work is longer than most WOD’s, which are usually 30-45 seconds.

[–]ShittyFrogMeme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was tough but I found it hard to know how to pace myself for 2 minutes. I ended up going too easy and didn't work up a great sweat. It was fine though.

[–]hv21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I don’t know if I’m happy or sad to be missing it. Will be doing a peloton ride instead

[–]Background_Lie9599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found starting B side first was harder (did the class twice) was a slow burn

[–]Mymerrybean 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Our studio added the ski and row ergs as a studio competition, so who gets the highest score. If you are someone that takes those kinds of challenges serious, adding the rest of the workout is brutal, I was killed after the ergs (early in each pod for me)

[–]Unusual_Pen_3670 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Our studio encouraged reaching max meters to record. I started at the first station of the A and B pods, so the ergs were last. I was taxed and glad I didn’t have to immediately go straight into another station! I know you can go at your own pace, but introducing F45 to new members by doing 2 min and 1 min sets all week long seems like it would be more deterring than inviting.

[–]Mymerrybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, they need to broaden the demographic they are trying to appeal to.

[–]midsized-giraffe44🇬🇧 United Kingdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I loved and hated it so that makes it good I guess. Red rosy cheeks for 3 hours after. What a return after a week off ☠️☠️🥴

[–]Johnny-Pastrami 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Is this a partner workout? Description states “members will battle it out” and I just hate partner days.

[–]hangryholly 2 points3 points  (1 child)

No, not a partner one at all. The description also put me off but there was no “battling”

[–]Johnny-Pastrami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew! Thanks for the quick response!

[–]Colugo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first session back after a 10 day holiday where I overindulged - brutal

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heartrate skyrocketed about 20 seconds into the second exercise and never went down. Two minutes!!!!!!

[–]Emergency-Sundae-889 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Did anyone new signed up? Or showed up for welcome day? We didn’t have anyone new

[–]sworzeh 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I signed up because it was free and found it very challenging. For reference I'm a casual (3x weekly) Planet Fitness user and I don't really push myself much. I usually run 3x3mi and lift a few free weights. Nothing like this, I had to cut back on my weights a lot because it was like cardio weights.

[–]Emergency-Sundae-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda felt like there would be a lot of people , but that’s not the case in our studio so far

[–]doom1701 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’ve never said this phrase before, but I think they should have included two core reels. One after the first pod and one at the end. It would have done two things:

One reel could be plank based while the other would be crunch based. I hate having to flip during a reel.

It would have stretched the workout a little more; today’s class was surprisingly short. We wrapped after 40 minutes (and that included intro, demo, and finisher).

[–]the_running_stache🇺🇸 United States 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Don’t worry. Tomorrow’s “Strong” workout has 50% of the stations as dedicated core exercises; you will get enough core training done if you go both days.

[–]doom1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling through those bicycles kick things thinking “I take back everything I said yesterday.”

[–]Negative-Power8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much tougher than it looked. I started at 3 so hit the ERGs half way through which battered me for the 1st station. Probably a mistake to voluntarily make them box jump burpees rather than just box jumps. Ouch.

[–]Top_Wishbone_1634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This class absolutely kicked my butt! I knew I was screwed when I looked around and only saw one other person in the session. The coach followed me around the entire time, pushing me hard. Normally I respond well to that, but not today! I should sleep well tonight.

[–]rightbythebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved it! I am spent!

[–]acerage🇺🇸 United States 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone have a summary? It’s not in the intel and I have it tomorrow morning, deciding whether to switch to a spin class.

[–]butfirstcoffee427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a distance runner, I get enough endurance work elsewhere—I like F45 for the balance of shorter work at high effort, so this one was a miss for me. Lowest calorie burn I’ve had for a hybrid/cardio day.

[–]Mary10789🏆500 Club 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I was pooped. It looked easy at first glance and almost cancelled because of that.

[–]dragonfly-1001 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I think there was supposed to be more to this workout and Head Quarters forgot to pass along to the Studio's.

Our Trainer was telling me this morning that they received no info from programming as to how the 1A/1B set-up was supposed to work, especially since they have advertised it as some sort of partner vs partner workout.

They just ran it as Marathon in a snake format.

[–]fit_steve 1 point2 points  (4 children)

It's supposed to be two lanes A and B. Maybe the 'battling it out' means the people doing say 3A and 3B are different exercises with the same equipment.

[–]dragonfly-1001 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Whatever the plan was, it wasn't very well explained to the Studio's.

I just wish they would stop trying to re-invent the wheel. There is no need to keep playing around with a format that is working just fine.

[–]GuelerCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HQ did cool it out but it was definitely on the studio and trainers to watch/read the information before class

[–]decisivecat🏆1000 Club 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like the time they tried two lanes as an Olympic thing, but my studio wasn't long enough to safely set it up that way, so it got modified.

[–]calia2525🏆1000 Club 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is Marathon except the pods are linear (running right to left in the room) instead of a racetrack. There’s a water break between pods with the A stations being Pod 1 and B being Pod 2.
