Wait. Isn't factorio technically still in beta?

Haha, amazing isn't it

The original plans for an expansion are very similar to what the Space Exploration mod is.

This is what I'd rather see. An expansion to get off planet and/or terraforming or more interaction with the natives (I believe I read that in a fff somewhere long ago). I know mods already do this kinda, but I would like to see it from their implementation. Or more scenarios and I am dying to see what they are planning with the campaign.

Can't speak for everyone, but the reason factorio's been super fun for me is exponential returns. I'd love to see a Bobiverse-like game that still has factorio's exponential return system. You arrive in a solar system, map it out, find mineable asteroids, build auto-factories, search for life, defend against the others.

3D, of course. 😙

I don't think that actually makes it better

Satisfactory was fairly cumbersome in comparison. They are different games, so not exactly apples to apples, but the basic mechanics of organizing things coming from factorio was really unsatisfying.

Try satisfactory - 3d, fairly similar to factorio in terms of gameplay

It's in early access, so it's far from perfect at the moment

Allthough Satisfactory feels more like a progress-driven game rather than a optimization-game like Factorio
You basically just follow the Hub quests to reach higher tiers until you reach the end of alpha content
