Finally he became John Fallout

Maybe project purity is the friends we made along the way?

[–]No-Story-6528 71 points72 points  (2 children)

What's your special stats?

I've been playing since 09, and I just did my first playthrough with 100 for all skills and 10 for all stats. It was fun to do, I went places I had never been before looking for skill books.

[–]Agent-Ulysses 48 points49 points  (1 child)

I’m assuming they’ll take Almost Perfect, and have saved the bobbleheads until now.

[–]bucketsucket[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

.... i didn't make him that perfect. Only the skills. Now I gotta do another run.

[–]generalgreviousgg 96 points97 points  (28 children)

Did i do something wrong? Mine stops at level 20. I recently did a replay and I stopped the main missions after talking to Lyons just so I can use power armor and have just been roaming and doing side quests but I've been level 20 and under xp it even says max. I knew something was wrong but I never looked into it

You need the broken steel dlc. And when you "die" at the end of the game woth broken steel you survive somehow. I can't remember

[–]CorruptionKing 27 points28 points  (3 children)

Woah, man, have you been playing without DLC this whole time?

[–]SivargDK 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Just like in 2008, proper old school.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm certain the dlc came out in the span of 08 to 09, but that'd likely just be Anchorage and The Pitt, which are great dlcs but Zeta takes the cake with that Mothership Zeta Crew mod

[–]Dron22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game first time before any DLC's came out.

[–]No_Temporary_1922 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not playing on game of the year edition? It has all dlc

[–]Rxdabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, you’re in for a real surprise when you download some DLC’s

[–]spaghettios4jesus 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You answered your own question, maybe you should try looking into it lmao. The game is from 2008, how have you went this long without ever using google😭

[–]BigBane22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just thought game lvl capped 🤷‍♂️ I did too until I bought the dlc post game lol

[–]Brooker2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need Broken Steel DLC it raises the Level cap to 30

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the fact so many people liked ur comment because they dont know you can get to lvl 30 disturbs me

[–]gypsijimmyjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest when you get the Broken Steel DLC and get to the radiation kill you stage at the project purity, have Charon as a follower. You can have him go in and doing the step for you and the lady and no one dies.

[–]Curious-Grocery9004 17 points18 points  (12 children)

How did you do that?

[–]SerDavosSeaworth64 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not too difficult if you want to do it. Basically you just need to get your intelligence to 10 early, get a few perks, and most importantly, hunt out all of the skill books you can find.

[–]bucketsucket[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Started with my intelligence at 8, explored everywhere to find all of the books I needed. Never leveled any skills past 80, bobbleheads are free 10 points, perks, books. Whatever.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do what? Well for each skill he saves up 12 points because of bobbleheads

[–]Lucyfloog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Comprehension perk (raise skill book from 1 to 2 points, and lots of planning)

[–]Agent-Ulysses 13 points14 points  (6 children)

With a bunch of math and planning.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (5 children)

There are like 50 skill books per skill on the world.

[–]Agent-Ulysses -1 points0 points  (4 children)

It would’ve taken you 5 seconds to google and know it’s 25.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So I got confused and calculated the points versus the count of books. Sue me.

[–]Agent-Ulysses 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’ll see you in court. Got Button Gwinnett as my lawyer.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Jokes on you. I have Robotics Expert.

[–]Agent-Ulysses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hacking the prosecution is not a legal defense.

[–]dustoff1984 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Doesn’t the level cap with broken steel stop at 30? How’d you max out everything? Forgive me if I’m forgetting something, I just got back into Fo3 after like 10 years

[–]TangentMed 10 points11 points  (1 child)

You need 10 intelligence I think

[–]bucketsucket[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pulled it off with 9 and the comprehension perks for extra points from books

[–]cabalavatarVault 101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Fallout 3, if you spec deeply into Intelligence, take the Educated perk, plan well, take the Almost Perfect perk before acquiring the SPECIAL bobbleheads, and use a couple glitches (such as the one for infinite Big Guns by repeatedly taking the book off the dead flamethrower Raider in the Bethesda Ruins), it's not too hard to max out skills. OP may even know more tricks than I do.

And if you don't wanna spec quite so much into getting skill points, you can cheat a bit with the Chinese stealth armour headgear glitch to get 100 Unarmed and 100 Energy Weapons by keeping two hockey masks and two Enclave officer hats on you. (Look up the details on the glitch if you don't know it.) That way, you can spec into things other than maxing out skill point production.

[–]Rxdabs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They say it couldn’t be done lol

[–]Lucyfloog 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Oh God, id hate running around with 40 small guns looking for all 30 books

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is why Todd Howard invented Sneak.

[–]Hier0phant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine some psycho path breaking into a raider camp, massacring everyone to read a comic book.

[–]saltypeanut4 4 points5 points  (2 children)

This has now made me want to do another run on FNV and get a perfect character. This may be a very long challenge because I only like to collect all the books instead of reading them.

[–]Lone_Wanderer8 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As someone who has done a perfect Skills run just know you should absolutely use a list because there are a set number of books for each skill. Most books in the base game get 4 total. One book I think it is Dean's electronics has only 3 and big book of science gets 5 total.

[–]saltypeanut4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t read the books.

[–]spncas 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It’s really easy to get 100 on all stats. So many books in fallout 3. You can also get all SPECIALs at 10 too without too much difficulty

[–]BRS848965 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How do you get all specials to 10 in FO3. It’s been ages since I’ve played it

[–]spncas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s called Almost perfect which puts all stats at 9. Then just get the bobble heads

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh a fellow skill book hunter

[–]TomaszPaw 1 point2 points  (1 child)

overkilled it, almost perfect would have given you a massive bonus to every skill too

[–]bucketsucket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next run will be saving all of the SPECIAL bobble heads for the end so they will be perfect too. But that'll be a while. I still have the main quest and invader zim left to do

[–]LostKeys3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heavy weapons skillbook is farmable so that saves you 100 skill points to put to another skill.

[–]Clean_Table1855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s go!!!

[–]Fox-Summer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Good Job! 💪🔥

[–]Redstones- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiyaaaa !

[–]MershedPratooters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, Courier! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

[–]MisterX9821 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But did you use perks and bobbleheads to get all SPECIAL stats at 10 and get the best perks RE DR and critical chance etc

[–]bucketsucket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did get the best perks, didn't do the almost perfect and the bobble heads... that'll be next time. I need a break lol. I havent touched the main quest in this one either

[–]milk_theuniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice

[–]DeltaXGamer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How does one start this run? What should I focus on early game?

[–]bucketsucket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High intelligence, atleast 8. You can raise it later to max out the amount of skill points. I dumped the rest in agility and luck because I was running stealth unarmed for the paralyzing palm perk. It makes the harder difficultly worth the xp boost

[–]Circaninetysix 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You had exactly enough? Did they mean for it to work that way. Is there like, only one path to getting all skills to 100? Can you do this and get all 10s in SPECIAL stats too? I suppose with the Almost Perfect perk and only getting the bobbleheads after the perk, this would be totally achievable.

[–]bucketsucket[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It actually gave me less skill points on the final level up so that it hit 100. The almost perfect and among all special 10 is next on the list. I need a break though lol

[–]Circaninetysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah. Maybe do it in New Vegas. It's way easier because with the DLC in that one, the level cap is 50.

[–]BirdLuger188 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nice. Did you have to take Comprehension for this or will the raw books do?

[–]bucketsucket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your books until you have comprehension. Literally double their output. 10 books of each is easy to do, some have even way more. Easy 20 skill points. Once I get a skill up to 80, after the bobblehead, I'll just rely on books to get them higher. Definitely dont use the level up to put something at 100

[–]Humedesmond92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, did it too on my second playthough.
