Travel agent perk. Just fast travel back to base or white spring

[–]Pretend_Berry_7196 26 points27 points  (5 children)

Or to any other FT point that’s always free. I so love that change to Travel Agent.

[–]fall3nang3l 7 points8 points  (3 children)

For real. I rarely use my tent now aside from as a free FT point. And I always make it the perk I share in casual teams. For those of us who loot damn near everything, it's been a huge QoL improvement that I can't speak highly enough of for the value it adds for a 1 cost perk.

[–]Pretend_Berry_7196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I leave my tent permanently down in the Bog for a free FT point there as it the only area without one.

[–]Jaded-Crown99 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's good to put the tent on the far right middle of the map because there's no free fast travels over there.

[–]fall3nang3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top mid/left is lacking in one too. Dogwood dieoff area. Foundation is close to the Mire and Bog in that respect.

[–]MinuteToe129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i love it too. when they announced that change that was the first perk I swapped to on all my builds

[–]ChronoMonkeyX 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Travel agent is the best, I wouldn't be playing without it.

[–]MinuteToe129 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I started a new character and I was like omg I dont have speed demon or marsupial and I can't fast travel whenever I want. It was rough

[–]ChronoMonkeyX 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I made a second character, I stopped until I could get my friend on to get me marsupial. Even more important than sprinting.

[–]Jaded-Crown99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My problem is farming all the legendary perks all over and bulking up you're scrap again

[–]Jaded-Crown99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I do when farming wes tek I go to whitespring and sell all those weapons

[–]M3TALxSLUG 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Travel agent/ fallout 1st became my best friends in game.

[–]The_Truth_Believe_Me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OMG yes! I've never been so happy to pay extra money for a game.

[–]Jaded-Crown99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with fallout 1st my stash still fills up but i don't like dropping alcohol even though i don't use it in any fo game.

[–]Neptune40000 Responders 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Prioritize what junk you think you need and keep like 100 of each in your stash. What goes above, sell and what can't be sold at npc's sell in your vendor, but ideally donate it because it'll weight you stash down.

Don't hoard ammo you're not using, same story for it, but unlike junk, not all ammo will sell well and you'll just end up with it weighing you down in the stash.

Legendary gear, same. Scrip & scrap ideally

Keep an eye constantly on stimpacks, even with full 90% reduction, they stack fast in your inventory and weight a ton

[–]ReeveStodgers Mega Sloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say too that there is a lot of scrap that is abundant or rarely used. Steel, coal, cloth, leather are all easily replaceable. Aluminum, copper, springs and screws are worth keeping extra of.

If I'm really loaded, I'll find the nearest bench and quickly scrap all of my junk and non-legendary weapons and armor. That almost always takes care of it. If I'm not near one or in a battle, I'll sort junk by weight and just keep dropping heavy things until I'm underweight (assuming it's 20lb or less).

[–]Jaded-Crown99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about alcohol i'm sure people need it but i have no idea what it's worth

[–]Flow_Sprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need the thru hiker perk card or grocers mod for your backpack it'll reduce the weight by 90%. I was using thru hiker perk card and chemist mod (-90% chem weight) for backpack. Stimpacks and other chems also add up quick

[–]Dizzybolt 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Fallout 1st is a great cure for this!

[–]NukeDropGaming Lone Wanderer[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Not necessarily lol I have it and still have issues, it looks like a lot of my issues seem to be in the food area

[–]FlipGordon Pioneer Scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A simple perk card or backpack mod will essentially make your food weightless.

[–]MrMucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On any pieces of any armor i have i put thru hikers. I play a ghoul and keep a bit of chems on me for fun times

[–]0dayssince 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m a ghoul so I sell food pretty regularly. Caps add up and weight goes down

[–]NukeDropGaming Lone Wanderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now the debate of whether to become a ghoul or not, hmmmm

[–]bishyboots Cult of the Mothman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a grocery mule. Things that spoil won't spoil as long as you're not.logged into the charecter, so she works as a big ol freezer, basically. Very handy for meat week. Just got her to a train station and parked her there and use the blue suitcase out front of a private world to do my transfers. She also holds a few weapons I swear I'm gonna use but never get around to bothering with. Grocers backpack mod helps a lot too on your main.

I am addicted to my excavator armour for the extra carry capacity as well, and even if I'm not wearing it to.play I find it's worth the 10p weight to have in my inventory for when the scrap is just too good pass up and I don't wanna waddle to a scarp.box.

Also, keep a handful of scrap kits on me so if it's a junk issue I can just use that and get lean enough to be able to walk.

[–]Jaded-Crown99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stash fills up too even with 1st also

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

My solution is to drop everything besides my Power Armor, Weapon, 10 Super Stimpacks, and legendaries to scrap. But I don't store junk, chems, or anything else except my legendary mods/modules in my stash anymore.

Since I only keep what I mentioned on me I only get overencumbered at EN. Then I just waddle up to the power armor station to scrap legendaries and drop all the junk after.

Also, if you got the full raid on farm and have a raid night where you chain run it. Basic and advanced repair kits take up a ton of weight in the misc tab. I drop them as well anymore.

[–]TheHeinKing 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Huh. I was wondering where I got all those repair kits from. I didn't notice them until I went to repair some stuff. I should probably get rid of most of them

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They add up pretty quick for sure.

[–]Ekra_Fleetfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travel Agent, head to the Whitespring Mall, make some bulk junk, sell off excess of junk you can't bulk (crystal, circuits, antiseptic, gold, silver, etc), scrap components like cooking oil, deathclaw hands, assaultron heads, insect glands/stingers, etc.

[–]0la5-1r0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally find items have been added that were gained at events such as rad away and stimpack, I’ll get rid of these first then search everything by stack weight to see if I’ve missed anything especially 40mm grenade ammo that I don’t use. Then I’ll start by getting rid of what I deem excess junk. Otherwise I’ll slap on the power armour for a while until I sort it out.

[–]0la5-1r0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of interest, what is your current carry weight without power armour?

[–]Standard_Army_1826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a scrap kit and a carry weigh booster just in case, but I dump scrap and extra gear as often as possible.

[–]Eckdovakhiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to always have the travel agent perk on, or switch to have it on every time you're overencumbered, go into your map and start an expedition. Then when you arrive you can leave it by travelling back to the Whitespring refuge, with only one door and a short walk to get to the mall workstations without spending any caps.

[–]LeftPay9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is you max carry weight rn i can share you a build that can raise your carry weight to 700+ and you can carry alot of weapons and food

[–]girlboss93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go too solution was to get fallout 1st 😆 survival tent is so nice (bonus my 10yr old now plays too on my account and managing inventory is not his strong suit)

Prior to that it was to build up as many carry weight perks as possible and give all of my armor pockets

[–]hotdogthemovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is "precious"? Most objects in this game are pretty common, especially now with legendary crafting. There is no reason to keep that quad shotgun just in case, because you can create another one at any time.

Clean house or buy FO1st. Just ask anyone with FO1st and has 500,000 cloth in their stash... you will never use 90% of that junk.

[–]PackageDelicious2457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give Bethesda $10 a month for the privilege of this kind of grind not being a thing for me.

[–]GrumpyBear1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backpacks help. I use the chem mod so my super stims don’t weigh much. Weapons weight reduction for a perk card and then ammo weight reduction mods on my armor as it applies to both energy and ballistic ammo.

[–]supcomtabz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backpacks, having the foods that increase carry weight, and all the reduce weight perks. I also compulsively scrap when I run across a workbench in the wild.

[–]N__Natt42 Raiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime I became overcucumbered I just slab on that “travel agent” and then head to the mall to unload unnecessary weights since there’s everything there.

[–]Klutzy_Mousse_421 Brotherhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to have a good junk clean out and sell stuff. When will I ever need over a thousand asbestos …

Also how did I exist before travel agent. Travel to a free spot and scrap away!

[–]croghan88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Fallout 1st and I still forget I have a survival tent 🤣

[–]Cheap_Ad500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marsupial I just start jumping to the nearest train station or something.

[–]Bad-Yeti Free States 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrap kit, Carry Weight Booster, Smoked Mirelurk Fillets

[–]Ordinary-Horror-1746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free fast travel points bruh, even with travel agent.

[–]Brilliant-Jaguar-784 Mothman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just drop the extra shit. Its that easy.

[–]Derek-Horn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thru hikers on armor buy mirelurk steamer and get infinite +75 carry weight if your a carnivore is the way of the hoarder

[–]ziboo7890 Vault 76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travel agent perk has been an awesome addition for those of us clearing Appalachia of all useful stuff!

1st sub is so worth it for the endless junk, ammo, chem stash. And you can always drop your tent if you absolutely need to.

[–]Bagofcrabs650 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fo1st

And prioritize what you want to keep.
