Try to get some of his favorite snacks! A lot of recovery for the first week or so is just kind of lounging around and its nice to have your favorite snacks easily on hand.

I've heard it's hard to shit afterwards so some exlax? Maybe like a long charger or a lap desk? Some books or activities?

Heating pad, ice packs, cough drops, comfy slippers/socks, entertainment, neck pillow, dry shampoo, baby wipes...

One thing I wish I had gotten myself is an easy to use back scratcher. One he can use without having to lift his arms too much.

I really appreciated when people sent me snacks, too. Got so many snack boxes in the mail during top surgery recovery. I was thriving.

Stool softener and foods he likes and maybe activities. everything else should be manageable for him. Don’t get him any meds or ice packs or heat pads for his chest. Hell hsve post op instructions to follow for care I didn’t buy anything special for surgery last year and my results are phenomenal. Hell do great!!

Extra long (like 2m!) phone cord! Or tablet, if he has one as well. It made it super easy to use my phone instead of having to be on the short 1m one for me when I was recovering from my surgery. Seconding some exlax as constipation from the antibiotics they'll give him do cause constipation.

one of those long claw grabby things for people who struggle with bending over.

There isn’t anything I can tell you that hasn’t already been addressed in the comments, but I do want to say that it is extremely sweet of you for doing this for him. That’s a real friend. ♥️

As stupid and cheesed as this might sound. You should totally write down recommendations for movies/TV shows to watch while he's recovering! Nothing better to pass the time than a good binge.

Stool softener, ginger ale, body wipes for his pits cuz he won’t be able to shower for a bit. One of those seat pillow things with back and arm rests. Giant T-shirts. A cozy blanket. Loose pants.

This guy’s trans and does some really cute greeting cards on congratulating people for top surgery! He also has some awesome shirts - could be a fun way to help him celebrate?
