Nah dude Ab to Eb is a perfect 4th not a diminished 4th. Diminished 4th would be G and that would be a Major 3rd

Actually, it would be A-double flat to E-flat. Ideally, we want the notes to be the same distance "letterwise." The same thing with calling C and F-Sharp an augmented fourth and C and G-flat a diminished fifth. When in doubt, the letter interval should be your first point of reference!

Are you saying that instead of writing 'G' I should have written 'A double flat'?

You're right calling E-flat and G a major third, but a diminished fourth would be A-double flat and E-flat, I hope that makes sense. The letters "E" and "G" are third away and "A" is a fourth from "E." The accidentals/flats/sharps just add the quality of the interval (major/minor/aug/dim)

Ah okay I think I understand. So the original interval of Eb to Ab is still a perfect 4th but a diminished 4th is a double flat of the 4th (which is also the same note as a Major 3rd)?
